Fagerli Farm School

The farm lies in Stange Vestbygd, close to Staur Manor, about 3 kilometres north of Stange Church. It has about 27 decares of cultivated ground, as well as an area beside the lake. The farm is run by Gunnar M. Kjeverud. He is a qualified teacher, having taught in secondary schools and the folk high school and was a head teacher for 15 years.

The farm is run as a traditional smallholding, with diverse animal and plant production. Pupils and visitors are drawn into the life of the farm, taking part in activities according to the season.

Fagerli Farm School offers:

  • Many animals: horses, cows, sheep, hens, rabbits, pigs, ducks and cats
  • Boats that can be used for local trips or for fishing
  • An apartment in the stable building that is available for the farm school’s activities
  • Garden, with vegetable garden, herb garden and summer house
  • Lakeside area with space for bonfire

Fagerli Farm School can offer the following educational services:

  • Nature and farm projects for schools, mainly at primary level
  • Alternative school days for pupils who need this
  • Educational arrangements for kindergartens
  • Farm visits for schools and other groups
  • Boat trips on the 29 foot cabin cruiser “BESTA”  (price on request). Can also carry bicycles.
  • Transport by 17 seat minibus (price on request): Vestbygda Minibuss
  • Bicycle workshop
